Visalia Calif., Police responded to a shooting Sunday on Conyer and Tulare. 42-year-old Bishop, Clay Sanner was killed in his office between scheduled services.

Witnesses said they saw the man go into the Bishops office, talk to the Bishop and then shoot him.

The suspect then drove off and called Police minutes later saying he was the shooter. When Police arrived, the suspect opened fire, and was himself shoot and fatally wounded but didn’t die until later at the hospital.

Visalia Police have handed the investigation over to Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies because of the offer’s involvement.

Sanner had been working at the church as a volunteer, getting no pay, for about four months. Sanner left behind a wife and six children.

My Spin: This is so sad. Heartfelt prayers for the family. (or positive energy sent if that’s what applies for your beliefs)

PS, Remember: It is my sincere wish that everyone viewing this has something burning within them as fervently as this work burns within me.

That is really sad. I know Mormon bishops give up much of their time to help members of their flock (wards). The shooter must have really had a big chip on his shoulder.

As an LDS Common Judge of Israel I understand the immense pressures of dealing with the psychological brimstones that people have to deal with. Counseling these people has become increasingly difficult. They are still children of God nonetheless. I pray for our brother as well as the family of the troubled one.

Thanks for the thoughts.
